Sleight of Hand Cellars
|
|
Sleight of Hand Cellars was founded in 2007 by Trey Busch and Jerry and Sandy Solomon. Our only goal from the outset has been to make world class wines while having the most fun that is legally possible. Our love of great wines from around the world, and our love of music, have inspired our vision and growth and have helped us reach a customer base that has the same passions as we do.
The winery has been open for less than ten years, but in that time Sleight of Hand Cellars has been named one of "The Next Generation" of up and coming wineries in Washington State, as well as one of "The Next Cult Wineries" by Seattle Magazine. In addition, we have been featured in Wine Spectator magazine and had numerous wines in various of the industry’s “Top 100” lists.
Most recently, the Wine Advocate had this to say about our wines: “While I've always loved the wines from these guys, they've hit a new level recently, and the wines are now up there with the crème’ de la crème’ of the state (and beyond).”

"Levitation" Syrah
The 2010 Levitation Syrah is a multi-vineyard blend of 100% Syrah, aged for 14 months in 20% new and 80% neutral French oak. The 2010 growing season was cool and long, allowing for extended hang times, which resulted in maximum flavor development. Comprised of 56% Lewis Vineyard Syrah, 37% Les Collines Syrah, and 7% Funk Vineyard Syrah, this wine is as complex a Syrah as we have made at Sleight of Hand. Simply majestic, with soaring aromas of freshly crushed raspberries, wet stones, and exotic spices, wrapped with plush tannins and fresh acidity that carry the flavors on forever. This wine will age beautifully for another 7-10 years. Enjoy!

"The Magician" White Wine
The 2011 Magician is 100% Riesling from Evergreen Vineyard, located on the cliffs high above the Columbia River in the middle of Washington State. Evergreen has established itself as the premier vineyard site for cool climate varietals, and this wine is a testament to that. 2011 was a cool vintage that allowed for extra hang time for the grapes, which means more flavor, while maintaining the beautiful acidity that is the framework for this wine. Bright, crisp, and juicy are the hallmarks of this wine, full of green apple and pear notes, clean minerality, and refreshing citrus notes. The sweetness is perfectly balanced by the acids, and if ever there were a perfect wine for spicy foods, this is the one! Enjoy with friends and family.

"The Spellbinder" Red Blend
The 2011 Spellbinder is a blend of 50% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec, 9% Syrah, and 2% Sangiovese. The fresh red and black fruits are buoyed by bright acids that are the hallmark of the cooler 2011 vintage in Washington State. The Spellbinder has always been crafted with the idea that wine is meant to be paired with food and shared with friends, and this vintage is no different. Although this wine will certainly age gracefully, it is already approachable and will make a great table companion to roasted meats, pasta, and poultry dishes. Cheers!
