"Levitation" Syrah

"Levitation" Syrah Wine Details
Price: $42.00 per bottle

Description: The 2010 Levitation Syrah is a multi-vineyard blend of 100% Syrah, aged for 14 months in 20% new and 80% neutral French oak. The 2010 growing season was cool and long, allowing for extended hang times, which resulted in maximum flavor development. Comprised of 56% Lewis Vineyard Syrah, 37% Les Collines Syrah, and 7% Funk Vineyard Syrah, this wine is as complex a Syrah as we have made at Sleight of Hand. Simply majestic, with soaring aromas of freshly crushed raspberries, wet stones, and exotic spices, wrapped with plush tannins and fresh acidity that carry the flavors on forever. This wine will age beautifully for another 7-10 years. Enjoy!

Varietal Definition
Syrah:
Syrah is the eight hundred pound gorilla of Rhone grapes! In the vineyard and the winery, Syrah is typically an easy grape to work with - healthy, early ripening, resistant to mildew and rot; suitable for winemaking in a variety of styles. The wines from Syrah are tannic without being harsh. The wines will have a taste and smell of dark blue fruit like blackberries and blackcurrant, with a strong spicy side where one can find freshly ground pepper and other spices. Syrah is famous for its part in the French blends, such as Côtes du Rhone and Châteauneuf du Pape.
