Beneduce Vineyards

Beneduce Vineyards In 2000, our family purchased this 51 acre farm to supply our retail garden center, Great Swamp Greenhouses. Since then, we’ve planted over ten acres of grapevines on a sunny hillside at the top of the property and transformed a large storage barn into a spectacular 5000 sq. ft. winery. The younger generation will take the helm at the new business, and while being the first family members to have formal education in the industry (Justen- B.S. in Agricultural Sciences from Rutgers University; Mike Jr.- B.S. in Viticulture and Enology [grape growing and winemaking] from Cornell University), they are proud to carry on a tradition as fourth generation farmers. Our family has made wine here since our ancestors emigrated from Italy in the early 1900s, and we are focusing on producing premium quality wine in an entertaining and down to earth atmosphere. Our last name “Beneduce” means “Good Leader” in Italian, and we have our sights set on becoming leaders of quality wine production in New Jersey.

  Cabernet Franc/Blaufränkisch
Assuming the role of the mad “Dr. Franc-enstein”, our winemaker presents his own unusual creation born from the familiar Cabernet Franc and a lesser known wild card, Blaufränkisch. One of Austria’s main red grapes, Blaufränkisch thrives here in the rich New Jersey hills, making it the ideal red grape for our soil. In our lab, we stitched together its awesome dark fruit and black pepper aromas with the quiet elegance of Cabernet Franc for a truly spine-tingling discovery in wine.
  Cabernet Sauvignon / Malbec
Our classic Cabernet had a fling with a wild Argentinean, and we fully support it. Its bold flavors and velvety texture are spiced up a bit by the Malbec grape for a full-bodied affair that will age well for the next two or three years…if you can keep it hidden for that long.
  Centerfold
Our Centerfold is a knockout. Ripe. Lush. Feminine. It seduces cynical taste buds with long legs and intoxicating aromas of ripe cherry, clove and rose water. Finally, a Pinot Noir with enough distinction to deserve both its notorious reputation and a spot next to you at the table.
  Chardonnay
This Barrel-Fermented Chardonnay offers up aromas of juicy pineapple and cantaloupe. It was matured on the lees and hand stirred using Old World techniques, creating a distinctly rich merger of vanilla cream and toasted flavors that provide an endless finish.
  Shiraz/Merlot/Zinfandel
Like an eclectic group of friends that come together over shared passions, this fruit-driven blend lets Shiraz, Zinfandel and Merlot make small talk in the bottle, agreeing on their mutual mission to satisfy your wine craving. This is a soft, approachable blend that’s perfect for easy drinking and conversation.
  Shotgun Red
When we first broke ground to plant our Chambourcin, Corot Noir and Noiret vines, we unearthed a graveyard of old shotgun shells. We took this as a sign – or maybe a threat – and blended those grapes for a single sip that will blow you away. We like to call it shotgun winemaking.
  Three Windows White
The east wall of our winery is framed by three vintage windows that originally graced a schoolhouse in the 1870s. Today, these restored beauties drench our tasting room in sunlight, inspiring us to pay homage with this aromatic white. Made up of 95% citrusy Riesling topped off with a bit of the more delicate Traminette, it boasts intense floral aromas and a mouth-watering grapefruit flavor.
  Tuxedo
Just like its sophisticated counterpart, Tuxedo is well-suited to impress. Here, the Pinot Noir grape is dressed up by being stripped down: its inner complexity is revealed in the form of a pure white juice that we’ve refined by barrel fermenting in new French oak. It promises a truly unique experience that will awe and intrigue you to the last drop. Very limited production.
