Adler Fels

Adler Fels Adler Fels is renowned for its white wines. Owners David and Ayn Coleman founded the winery in 1979 with a dedication to producing the country's finest Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer. Their efforts have consistently been rewarded by critics and leading wine publications. The Sauvignon Blanc has won gold medals in major competitions every year since its first release and has been called the "definitive Sauvignon Blanc" and "the benchmark Fumé Blanc of California." The Gewürztraminer has won even higher honors, including prestigious Sweepstakes, Best of Region, Best of Class and Gewürztraminer of the Year. Following the success of the Fumé Blanc and Gewürztraminer, the Colemans focused on Chardonnay. Here, too, their efforts were rewarded with distinction and praise. Adler Fels' Sonoma County Chardonnay has ranked among the top Chardonnays in California by the Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Today, Coleman's passion turns to his Sangiovese. His premier release in 1994 won "Favorite of the Year" status from the Houston Chronicle and the San Diego Tribune. The continuing vintages have placed gold medals. In 1998, his Syrah was released for the first time.

  Adler Fels Russian River Gewurztraminer
With its attractive pale amber tint, this wine, which received a Gold Medal and Best of Class at the California State Fair, casts fragrances of pineapple, pear citrus and subtle perfume. These components are closely followed by spicy flavors of tropical fruit and tangerine. Crisp and viscous, the touch of residual sugar is nicely balanced by hearty acids. It is very complex and has a long finish of tropical fruit.
Adler Fels Russian River Sauvignon Blanc
This well-bred wine displays a fresh off-the-vine bouquet of grapefruit and grass with hints of minerals. Extremely crisp and refreshing, it has crystal-clear flavors of sweet grapefruit and subtle melon. Bright acids and intense fruit help form its wonderful structure and balance. It has great body and a long finish of grapefruit and melon. Serve with raw oysters, grilled salmon or pasta.
Alterra 2000 Sonoma County Grand Mélange
Grand Mélange is a great example of creative blending resulting in an outstanding wine. Winemaker David Coleman, once again, achieved success by bringing together the best fruit grown in the microclimates and varied soils of Sonoma County. This is an extremely well balanced blend of berry flavors supported by soft tannins. Think velvet on your pallet and enjoy the clean, fruity finish.
  Sangiovese
Highly acclaimed since its first release in 1994. USA Today says, "Best bet - very highly recommended." Our Sangiovese is a highly styled Italian varietal with forward, up-front flavors of cherries and blackberry and an enchanting floral aroma.
  Syrah
Wine Enthusiast - Four Stars. Wine of the Week - July 10, 2000. Moderately intense plum and blackberry fruit and oak. Bright, assertive, ripe, full and weighty. Tastes wonderful and will age well.
