Shelburne Vineyard

Shelburne Vineyard Tours are available year round by appointment. We are also open for tastings for 5 people or more, also by appointment. Our winery is extremely modest, (quite cramped, and crammed with tanks and barrels of our fine wine leaving very little free floor space) and we conduct our tasting in this small space. We'd love to have you visit, but don't expect a glamorous interior setting. The vineyard is another story....wonderful VT vistas near Lake Champlain. We are near VT Teddy Bear Co, The Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms.

Directions
We are 2 miles west of Rt 7 very close to the Shelburne Village district. From Rt 7 in Shelburne: Turn West (towards the lake) onto Bostwick Rd. at the traffic light if heading south, its a right turn just south of the Shelburne Museum or..if heading north, its a left just north of the Vt Teddy Bear Factory Take Bostwick Rd for 2 miles to Beach Rd. Turn right onto Beach Road, travel for approx 1/8 mile. Take the 1st right onto an unmarked farm road, just past 3 mail boxes. Travel thru the farm gate to the center of a complex of farm buildings. The winery is in the building marked "310"

  Cabernet Franc-Merlot Blend
A lighter bodied, oak aged wine with a smooth finish made and blended by us from grapes grown in the North Fork of Long Island (NY) appellation
  Cayuga White
Crisp and fruity, hints of citrus in both taste and aroma. Small amounts of Riesling and Chardonnay are added to produce a balanced wine with full mouth feel and a complex finish
  Coach Barn Red
Made by us from classic Merlot grapes grown on the North Fork of Long Island. Medium bodied and aged in oak
  Lakeview White
Softer than our Cayuga White with a little bit of sweetness, this is a blend of mostly Cayuga with smaller amounts of Riesling, Chardonnay and Vignoles. The resulting mix goes well with light dinners or as a pre dinner drink.
  Meach Cove Red
The first red from our Vermont grown organic grapes. The grape variety (Zweigelt) originates in central Europe and survives and ripens well in our VT vineyard.
  New World Red
VT grown, from new grape varietals developed in the northern US to survive and thrive in our north country climate.
  Nocturne - Late Harvest Vignoles
From grapes grown on our Breeding Barn Site and harvested when extremely ripe and starting to dessicate, in mid to late October.
  Riesling Dry
is noble varietal grown in our VT soil produces classic aromatic and complex taste properties.
  Traminette
This wonderful grape recently developed by Cornell (a hybrid of the classic Gwertstraminer) produces a delightful, spicy wine that goes well with Asian dishes.
  Vidal Blanc Ice Wine
Usually harvested in December at 15 degrees F when the grapes are partially frozen, with only the sweetest juice still in slush form. We aim to harvest the first fall day that temperature is reached. In 2003 we harvested on Dec 3 at 15F, and in 2004 on Dec 11 also at 15F.
