Wine Details
Price:
$30.00 per bottle
Description:
This is the last year of any quantity as try as I might I can’t get the grapes the way I want them. It takes far too much work to make this orphan grape and that’s a shame. As always this one is big, black and incredibly fruity. Huge black cherry nose, biggest fruit bomb yet! It has a softer mouth feel than the ’01 so it’s very approachable at this early state. Not a weak wine but balanced with a long finish.

Varietal Definition
Lagrein:
A famous varietal in the Trentino/Alto Adige area of northern Italy. Usually overproduced into making light reds with little character, there are versions that are worthy of the proper care they were given. Sumptuous, rich reds and perfumed rosés from Lagrein can be very good and will also improve with cellaring, sometimes lasting up to ten years. Black plums, fresh red cherries and alpine grass can be found in the better versions. Also grown with limited success in Australia.
