Cyrus Wine Details
Price:

Description: Cyrus Alexander was a nineteenth-century adventurer, rancher, gold miner, community leader and since 1995, the namesake of our limited production, handcrafted, proprietary red wine. The 1999 Cyrus represents our fifth vintage of this now nationally acclaimed wine. Composed of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec, this latest rendition of CYRUS exploits the nearly perfect growing conditions of the renowned Alexander Valley and captures what Winemaker Kevin Hall considers paramount in a wine: balance. The tremendous amount of fruit flavors, including black cherry, plum and cassis are matched perfectly with a like amount of spicy oak. The velvety mouth-feel is similarly complemented by firm yet not unyeilding tannins. Aged both in American and French oak for twenty-four months and twelve months in the bottle prior to release, this wine is at once enjoyable and age-worthy for at least a decade. Numerous Gold Medal Winner!
