Commissure

Commissure Wine Details
Price: $12.00 per bottle

Description: In Blacksmithing, commissure is the point where two metal objects are joined together. At Blacksmiths Winery, Commissure is our off-dry red blend of two softer, lighter red grapes in a Beaujolais style. It's a good match with a ham sandwich or pasta and pairs especially well with any dish containing basil.

Varietal Definition
Leon Millot:
Early french-american hybrid grape very similar to Marechal Foch.
Chambourcin:
A french-american hybrid used to make red wines with fruity flavors and some herbaceousness. Grown in the cooler regions of Eastern U.S. and Canada. Decreasing acreages also found in Europe; due to stringent European Union rules these varieties cannot be blended with traditional varieties.

I wish I had purchased more of bottles of this wine. It is a great example how wines should be made with french hybrids. It is medium bodied and smooth with a very distinctive flavor. It is also very versatile - great with meals or by itself.
