Blowing Rock Winter Ale

Blowing Rock Winter Ale Wine Details
Price:

Description: This Ale could be compared to an Imperial/Double Red. It is fermented with a proprietary ale yeast strain that provides a moderate fruity-ester aroma and slight flavor. This deep, copper toned ale is characterized by its balanced hop bitterness and spicy noble hop flavors. The kettle hopping is derived from German Hersbrucker & American Cascade. The spicy overtones are complemented by a generous portion of whole-leaf hops added to the fermenter and American Cascade hops added to the aging tank.

Varietal Definition
Ale:
Ale is beer that is brewed using only top-fermenting yeasts, and is typically fermented at higher temperatures than lager beer (15–23°C, 60–75°F). At these temperatures, ale yeasts produce significant amounts of esters and other secondary flavours and aromas, often resembling those of apple, pear, pineapple, grass, hay, banana, plum or prune.
