Dolcetto

Dolcetto Wine Details
Price: $28.95 per bottle

Description: The Dolcetto grape is grown almost exclusively in Italy's Piedmont region along with fellow varietals Nebbiolo and Barbera. Fortunately, the weather and growing patterns in the Temecula Valley are similar to those in Piedmont, allowing Ponte to produce a delicious Dolcetto of their own. The Ponte Dolcetto is a rich, smooth wine with black cherry and licorice flavors and a subtle almond finish. It is ready to drink now with everything from wood-fired pizzas to pastas to grilled meats and red fruit desserts.

Varietal Definition
Dolcetto:
Italian red grape from the Piedmont area of the North West. Produces soft varietal wines for early drinking. Gives lots of up front fruit with soft tannins with a style not unlike the Gamay of Beaujolais.
