Description:
Displaying a rich, dark garnet color – a testament to our labor-intensive all-night punchdowns – our 2005 Cabernet Franc gives strong aromas of cherries, plums, and other dark red fruits. Very smooth on the palate, the wine’s well-integrated tannins with the balanced varietal character makes it an easy-drinking, food-friendly wine. The fruit maturity at time of harvest prevents our Cab Franc from showing any herbaceous or “green vegetable” characteristics. Aged in 40% first-year, 40% second-year, and 20% third-year French oak, this wine has the potential for extended cellaring.
