Description:
We’ve always enjoyed deep, dark color on our Syrah and this wine is no exception. Our first Dry Creek Valley offering displays beautiful fruit and spice draped over a full yet surprisingly well proportioned body. Aromas of dark cherry, black pepper, cinnamon and smoked bacon are followed by a mix of blackberry, pomegranate and chocolate on the palate. A combination of strength and finesse, this youngster knows how to impress already. Give it just a bit of time (say, 6 months or so from release) and it will parade both style and flair at any dinner table or party. Then watch it develop into beautiful maturity over the next 3-5 years.

Varietal Definition
Syrah:
Syrah is the eight hundred pound gorilla of Rhone grapes! In the vineyard and the winery, Syrah is typically an easy grape to work with - healthy, early ripening, resistant to mildew and rot; suitable for winemaking in a variety of styles. The wines from Syrah are tannic without being harsh. The wines will have a taste and smell of dark blue fruit like blackberries and blackcurrant, with a strong spicy side where one can find freshly ground pepper and other spices. Syrah is famous for its part in the French blends, such as Côtes du Rhone and Châteauneuf du Pape.
