Compass ® , the Dreyer Family’s brand known for high quality, high value wines from “all points of the compass” is pleased to release its 2004 Oregon Riesling. This inaugural release is a semi-sweet, Spatlese-style Riesling exhibiting beautiful crisp citrus fruit, mineral notes, and a soft tasty finish. Located in Yoncalla, Oregon this Riesling vineyard’s location in the Umpqua Valley Appellation, allows for the highest quality growing conditions for this varietal. The 2004 growing season was exceptional with the no rains until after the harvest, thus allowing the grapes to gain full maturity with concentrated character and excellent sugar levels. This Compass ®Riesling makes a great aperitif, and is an absolutely wonderful companion to many foods.

Riesling:
On the sweeter end of the spectrum, some of the best dessert wines should give thanks to the Riesling varietal. Rieslings are made dry to sweet, but it is the sweet style Riesling that brought about its popularity in the United States.
