Le Yamaska rouge est issu des cépages hybrides français Chancellor et Chancellor hâtif, et vinifié avec macération pelliculaire et passage en chêne, permettant d'assembler ce vin d'un rouge vermeil, aux arômes de petits fruits (fraise, cerise), légèrement boisé, avec une note épicée et une certaine persistence en bouche.

Chancellor:
A french-american hybrid with origins in the Rhone Valley of France. Was widely grown and very popular in France where it was used to produce high quality red and rose' wines. Now being replaced by varieties stipulated by E.U. rules. Also grown in the cooler regions of Eastern U.S. and Canada.
