Tara Bella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Tara Bella Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Details
Price:

Description: 2002 DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL WINNER The grapes were hand selected and harvested from two vineyards in the Napa Valley. An extremely limited production wine that captures the heart of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The vibrant purplish ruby color of the 1999 Napa Valley leads to an enticing array of scents, suggesting juicy blackberry, cocoa, ripe plum, and toasted vanilla bean. On the palate this powerful, medium to full bodied wine is bursting with wild blueberry, black currant, cedar, and toast, with a lovely buttery berry on the long finish. Impressive concentration along with moderate tannins and crisp acidity insure this admirably structured yet generous offering will age beautifully for many years, but due to its relative forwardness, would drink great tonight.

Varietal Definition
Cabernet Sauvignon:
Cabernet Sauvignon is the most widely planted and significant among the five dominant varieties in France’s Bordeaux region, as well as the most successful red wine produced in California. Though it was thought to be an ancient variety, recent genetic studies at U.C. Davis have determined that Cabernet Sauvignon is actually the hybrid offspring of Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon berries are small with black, thick and very tough skin. This toughness makes the grapes fairly resistant to disease and spoilage and able to withstand some autumn rains with little or no damage. It is a mid to late season ripener. These growth characteristics, along with its flavor appeal have made Cabernet Sauvignon one of the most popular red wine varieties worldwide.
