Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris Reserve Wine Details
Price: $16.00 per bottle

Description: We took a small portion of our 2002 Pinot Gris harvest and fermented it in French oak barrels. This barrel fermentation seems to add a warnth and complexity to the wine which contributes to a fuller middle palate and long finish. This wine was subsequently blended with a portion of our stainless steel fermented Pinot Gris to add a forward, fruity component. The wine received extended aging in barrel and was bottled in May, 2003. We are especially attracted to the bright, crisp quality of this wine and enjoy having it with a variety of foods. We recommend pacific northwest oysters on the half shell, grilled scallops, sushi, sashimi and a wide range of foods. It's also delicious by itself.

Varietal Definition
Pinot Grigio/Gris:
Pinkish-white variety producing a very crisp white wine. Grown in Oregon, the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, and more and more in California, it shows promise for other cool climates. Also known as Tokay d'Alsace in France, Rulander in Germany, and Pinot Grigio in Italy.
