Silver Leaf Vineyard & Winery

Silver Leaf Vineyard & Winery was founded in Suttons Bay by Mark and Patti Carlson in 2005. The 30-acre estate is located just north and west of Suttons Bay, nestled among cherry and apple orchards where the vineyard is planted in rich, loamy soil with a gentle slope on high ground. The tasting room opens to a deck through double French doors where there are tree-top level views overlooking the vineyard and scenic Leelanau County.
Along with our wines, we feature art work displayed on a revolving basis from local artists as well as music and special events throughout the summer and fall.
Our goal is to continuously produce exceptional wines with attention to detail and to share our passion for rustic elegance with our friends and guests.

Directions
From Suttons Bay, go 3 miles north on M-22 to Stallman Rd. Turn left on Stallman, go 1 mile to Peshawbestown Rd. Turn right and go 1/3 mile to Silver Leaf Farm Rd.

Chafia Cherry
Our Gold Medal winner is a true cherry wine with a bright mouth feel and a "not too sweet" taste. We couldn't help but name this wine after what we affectionately refer to as the “Cherry Mafia” of Leelanau County, our good neighbors and friends. Chafia Cherry is made from 65% Balaton and 35% Montmorency cherries. This wine has a balanced acidity and an alcohol content of 10%. Enjoy with appetizers, chocolate, or as an after dinner drink.

Chardonnay
“Sur Li” style – fermented and aged in French oak for 11 months and the lees stirred every two weeks. This is a classic Chardonnay. Serve with shellfish, light pasta sauces and salads.

Eve
An apple based, after dinner or before bedtime treat. Eve is a fortified wine with an alcohol content of 18%. Styled after brandy; serve at room temperature, chilled or “great” on the rocks.

Pinot Grigio
Pale straw with golden highlights. Citrus, grapefruit, melon nose. Grapefruit, lemon flavors with a mouth feel that's round and balanced between acidity and residual sugar. Clean refreshing finish. It is our belief that Pinot Grigio is largely overlooked in the Leelanau Peninsula. Our intent is to introduce more people to the style and grace of Pinot Grigio. This is an extremely approachable wine and a versatile food companion. It has been consistently praised for its value, delivering great quality for a modest price.

Riesling
Semi-dry white wine with 2% residual sugar. Clean, crisp, soft and supple with perfect acidity. Fruit-forward floral aromas and rich full-bodied citrus flavors. This is an elegant full flavored wine making it ideal on its own or when paired with spicey Asian, Cajun, or curried dishes. Also pairs well with shellfish and fresh water fish.
