Cape May Winery

Cape May Winery The Cape May Winery has been in existence since 1992. The Craig family, owners of Cape May's Washington Inn, bought it in 2003, with winemaker Darren Hesington in charge. Since then, this delightful site has grown into a very successful wine producing business. Today, the winery bottles over 93,000 bottles of wine, has over 20 different varieties and has become the 4th largest producing winery in New Jersey.

From Cape May Ferry: Take Rt. 9 North. 2nd traffic light turn left on Rt. 644 (Shunpike Road). Next light turn right onto Rt. 648 (Toenbank Road). Winery is 1/2 block on the left. From Cape may: Go to the Garden State parkway (mile post 0). Follow Rt. 109 to Rt. 9 south. 2nd traffic light turn right on Rt. 644 (Shunpike Road). Next light turn right onto Rt. 648 (Toenbank Road). Winery is 1/2 block on the left.

  Cape May BF Chardonnay
Aromas of peach and pear are followed with the flavors of stone fruit and butterscotch. This Chardonnay is blending in 50% French, 50% American oak, making for a soft delicate finish.
  Cape May Cabernet Franc
Subtle sweetness on the nose and layered with licorice and spice throughout. This young wine carries fine grained tannins with a near perfect coastal acidity.
  Cape May Cabernet Sauvignon
A lovely balanced, elegant young Cabernet. Spicy fruit on the nose and subtle plum flavors liven the palette. Dry, smoothly tannic on the finish.
  Cape May Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
This young approachable Cabernet Sauvignon is dry with a profile of cherry and cola with a herbal edge on the nose. Softly tannic with flavors of blackberry, spice and elaborate oak.
  Cape May Chardonnay
Fresh lively aromas of creamy fruit & citrus. This wine delivers bold flavors of grapefruit followed by a richer note of stone fruit offering a nicely round, easy going finish.
  Cape May Merlot
This interesting Merlot is structured and complex. Ripe red fruit flavors with strong tannins, new oak and just-so acidity. Drink now, but should improve over the next 2-4 years.
  Cape May Pinot Grigio
Light and fresh carrying tropical fruit flavors with subtle hints of honeysuckle. Finishes with balanced crisp acidity and fruit cocktail flavors.
  Cape May Red
60% Syrah & 40% Chambourcin blend with rich aromas, followed by a power punch of fruit and oak delivered on the palette. Smooth velvet tannins elegantly frame the finish.
  Cape May Riesling
This off-dry Riesling displays delicate floral notes with aromas of peach and lime. Mineral rich depth with zesty citrus flavors.
  Isaac Smith Cabernet Sauvignon
A nice summertime Cabernet…with hints of anise on the nose, flowing to black cherry on the palette, this medium bodied cab has a smooth, subtle finish.
  Isaac Smith Merlot
Concentrated fruit aromas of raspberry and a hint of plum. Layered flavors of berries and oak. Drying tannins, this wine will complement almost any dish.
  Isaac Smith Syrah
Smooth & dry. With appealing floral aromas of violet and waves of black fruit mingled with an oaky spice, make for a silky pleasant finish.
  Victorian White
1.25% Residual Sugar. 50% French Columbard, 35% Cayuga and 15% Viognier. Fruity clean and crisp, this fun summertime wine is semi-sweet with ripe fruit aromas and a clean honeyed finish.
