  Cabernet Pfeffer
Sgt. Pepper’s lonely grape? The few of those who are familiar with this seldom planted, and even more rarely expounded grape, may have assumed its name originated from the profuse white pepper character it exhibits. Local lore at the Wirz vineyard claims this was a grape selection from the late and locally infamous Mr. Pfeffer. Other loosely scattered information asserts that this is simply the red Alsation grape Trousseau. Only time and DNA will tell. What we do know is that this wine is extraordinary! These hundred-year old vines have created a wine graced with balance and outstanding fruit and spice character. This rare wine will intrigue even the seasoned enthusiast.
  El Serrano
The gateway to the mountains, El Serrano is our effort at climbing to the highest peaks of winemaking. This elegant and rich blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Pfeffer exhibits so much complexity it's elusive. While Americans have spent so much time focusing on varietal purity in wine (strict Merlot, Chardonnay etc.), we believe strongly that the greatest wines of the world are still blends. Please join us in rejoicing in this diversity, in the integration, and the wondrous harmony created when we look beyond the confines of purity.
  Lakeview Vineyard Syrah
Lakeview Vineyards is located in warm Lockwood Valley on pure white, chalk "soils." While farming grapes here may be the fare of brave souls and heroes, the vineyard owner and farmer Ron Frudden grows exceptionally low vigor Syrah here. Unlike much of the dense, high alcohol Syrah of California, the fruit for this wine was picked at moderate ripeness lending to modest alcohol levels in the thirteen's. This wine speaks more directly of the Northern Rhone with dried blue and black fruits, hints of tobacco and inescapable dark chocolate.
  Lawer Vineyard Syrah
Syrah is certainly one of our passions here at Page Springs Cellars. We work with Syrah from several different vineyards in California and Arizona and have planted clones from Hermitage, France on our own Estate. The Lawer Vineyard, located on the Sonoma side of Knights Valley, is an exceptional site for Syrah This wine was produced from the first harvest of this newly planted vineyard. Although much notoriety goes to old vineyards, first harvests can often be exceptional as the vines only produce scant fruit with great concentration. Complex, well structured and age worthiness are but a few of this wine's fortes.
  Old Vines Mourvedre
Can you say “More-ved-dra” please? This amazing wine comes from eighty year old vine Mourvedre, farmed on the Enz Vineyard of Lime Kiln Valley, California. Although popularized in southern France, Mourvedre actually originated in Spain where it is called Monastrell. It is widely planted on Spain’s southeastern coast and falls just behind Grenache as the most widely planted grape in Spain. This wine is truly exotic. The rich mouthfeel is loaded with dark fruits and exotic spices. We’d love to tell you more, but want to leave the descriptive exploration of this wine up to you.

Land, grapes, wine, friends, family, education and fulfillment. Wine is within everyone’s reach!
  Pinot Noir
I have worked with the Rio San Lucas Vineyard for several years now. During my previous tenure at David Bruce Winery, I found myself lamenting the loss of this fruit into larger blends. I just had to rescue this unique individual from the crowd. RSL sits on the banks of the Salinas River, in a cool valley southeast of Monterey. Colleagues and I have always been able to pick out a unique RSL, earthy spice whenever making wines from this site. While I see these flavors in all the grapes harvested from RSL, the site character aligns with Pinot most harmoniously. This is a varietal classic. Dark cherry, spice, earth and exquisite balance.

  Vino de la Familia
Petite Sirah, known in France as Durif, is a child of the well known Syrah and fairly unknown grape named Peloursin. In the States, Petite has a long history of use as a blending grape for improving color in wines from jug to bottle. It is only in the last decade that Petite has gained the notoriety it deserves.
  Vino del Barrio
This is a soft, easy drinking blend of varietals from southern France, including Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre (more-ved-dra) and Cabernet Pfeffer (feffer). Vino del Barrio is light enough to enjoy everyday yet packs enough flavor to pair well with a variety of foods ranging from classic grilled meats to spicy Asian dishes.
