Altamura Vineyards and Winery, established in 1985 by Frank and Karen Altamura, is the only winery located in Wooden Valley. Stag's Leap Winery, Pahlmeyer and Caymus purchase grapes from this area, which is within the Napa Valley appellation, yet Altamura is the first to capture Wooden Valley's special characteristics in a bottling. Napa Valley natives Frank and Karen have a decidedly hands-on approach to every step of the growing and winemaking process. Thus, a natural production limit is established and the wines reflect the Altamura's deep commitment to reflecting the terroir of their Wooden Valley Ranch.

Altamura Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Pour this wine into a glass and you’ll be immediately impressed by the deep saturated pigmentation that clings to the side of the glass. Inhale and fill all of your senses with the dark aromas of truffles, club room leather and briary dark fruits of late summer. Just below the surface is the promise of an intense first taste. Unfolding on your palate are well-integrated flavors of black cherry, blackberry, cocoa and currant all delivered on waves of toasty oak, fresh acidity and elegant long chain, fine grained tannins. Altamura Napa Valley Sangiovese
Immediately evident in this wine is the dense rich ruby color. Multi-layered perfume of dried violets, dusty cocoa, vanillin, and the aroma reminiscent of freshly cultivated soil. Concentrated flavors of ripe dark fruit such as berry and plum are revealed and brightened by lively acidity and a hint of cinnamon all toned by long smooth tannins. The appealingly distinctive Wooden Valley ranch terroir connects Altamura’s wines creating focus and perspective.
