In keeping with this tradition of excellence, The Country Squire has now opened its own working winery in the 18th Century portion of the restaurant building. The Tartan Tasting Room & Gift Shop is a new addition, open to visitors from Wednesday to Saturday (and by special appointment)
Both Lennon and her daughter Loraine Smith hail from Scotland. They decided that starting up Duplin County's second winery was a good way to attract visitors off the N.C. 24 Bypass and nearby I-40 - and at the same time add a new dimension to the already successful Country Squire.
.Many of the wines at The Country Squire are named after favorite areas at the Squire and the wine label design is reflective of the Lennons' Scottish heritage. The new creations were a big hit at the Muscadine Festival held in late September in Kenansville. Country Squire wines are now available for purchase through both the gift shop and restaurant.
Bus and tour groups are always welcome at The Country Squire Winery. Private tastings and other special events can also be arranged by calling The Country Squire during regular hours at (910) 296-1727 or 1-877-830-1602.

Directions
The Country Squire is found on NC 50/Bus 24 between Kenansville and Warsaw, NC. Follow the signs to Kenansville from the new NC 24 (bypass). The Country Squire is convenient from Interstate 40: from the north and west, take Exit 364 N.C. 50/Bus. 24 East. From the south and east take Exit 373, N.C. 24 East.
