Casita Brewing Company is owned and operated by Ryan and Mahalia Witter-Merithew. Ryan is a seasoned brewer, having worked as a professional brewer in Denmark, England, and of course, the United States over the last thirteen years. Mahalia is the heart of the business and the founder, president, and majority owner of the company, making Casita Brewing Company a female-owned, minority-owned business.
Casita started as a contract brewery at Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro Vermont in 2015. In 2017, this business moved to our home state of North Carolina, where they produced beer at Duck-Rabbit Brewery in Farmville. In 2020, they opened the first ever Casita brewery and taproom in Mahalia's hometown of Wilson, NC. Over the years, Casita has produced over 50 different beers. Ryan is excited to bring this creativity to the new taproom.
