Looking Glass Cheese & Cider

Looking Glass Cheese & Cider You’ll find a celebration of fermentation on the farm when you visit Looking Glass. They craft natural hard ciders , small batch farmstead cheese and operate a preservation kitchen where they transform the bounty of the farm into jams and pickles. They milk the cows, make the cheese, press the fruit, make the wine, and pick and process the vegetables. There is always a lot to be done on 226 acres of paradise and they share that experience with everyone who visits. Stop in to shop or pull up a chair and enjoy ciders on tap, beautiful cheeseboards, and ice cream by the scoop. Go for a walk, take in the stunning mountain views and participate in seasonal events like u-pick sunflowers

  Chardonnay
Refreshing and reflective of an “old world character”, our Chardonnay is reminiscent of a fine and delicate white Burgundy. We prefer not to mask the fresh varietal flavor with heavy oak and let the delicate fruit nuances of citrus, pear and green apple carry the melody. Our Chardonnay has a long complex finish and is an excellent accompaniment for seafood and fowl.
  nfusion - Cabernet Blend
Infusion is a special reserve blend combining the intense and gutsy richness of Cabernet Sauvignon with the finesse of Cabernet Franc. Flavors of black cherry, espresso, red currant and sage are accentuated by a hint of vanilla on the finish. Tannins are smooth textured and graceful, adding complexity and character to the elegant frame of this wine. Aged 12 months in premium French oak. Cabernet Sauvignon 50%/Cabernet Franc 50%
  Niagara
Made from the East Coast’s native grapes, Niagara is a powerhouse white wine true to North Carolina character. In the nose, there are fragrances reminiscent of mountainous aromatic dry herbs and apricots. On the palate, Niagara has flavors of tangerine and tropical fruits. The finish is lively and zesty, reflective of Niagara’s refreshing acidity. This is a wine to be enjoyed as a light thirst quenching aperitif or with a variety of cheeses.
  Riesling
Cool temperatures in the evening help bring out the lightness and freshness of the Riesling grape. This being said, Little River Riesling can best be described as having crisp acidity, light body and an "ethereal" freshness that makes it a delight to drink with a variety of foods, including Asian. Little River Riesling has aromatic characteristics of citrus, grapefruit and a hint of green apples. The delicate and slightly steely acidity, which is a hallmark of the Riesling grape from the Rheingau in Germany, can also be found in our wines and promotes not only the freshness of the wine but the ability to age as well.
  Sauvignon Blanc
Light and refreshing with a hint of gooseberries on the nose. Our Sauvignon Blanc has a delicate acidity and flavors of kiwi, lime and white peach on the mid-palate. The finish is long and delicate. Sauvignon Blanc is superb with goat cheese or a variety of asian foods.
  Synergy - Cabernet Blend
A unique and distinctive blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Round, silky tannins are enhanced by intense layers of blackberry, Bing cherry, raspberry, plum and a hint of black licorice. A graceful and rich expression of both grape varieties combining to form an elegant and complex wine with a long and memorable finish. Aged 18 months in premium French oak. Cabernet Franc ( 60%) Cabernet Sauvignon ( 40%)
