Bowers Harbor Vineyards

Bowers Harbor Vineyards Bowers Harbor Vineyards is a family run boutique winery and tasting room featuring premium "Estate" grown Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Reds. A fine collection of novelty fruit wines under the Forty-fifth Parallel label is also available at the Estate tasting room. We are situated half way out the Old Mission Peninsula in historic Bowers Harbor and overlook Power Island, Bowers Harbor and a view down Grand Traverse Bay. This provides our vineyards with the perfect micro-climate; long hot days, cool nights, and extended fall hang time. Drive up through the vineyards to our tasting room to taste, learn, and enjoy!

Directions
Take M-37 north from Traverse City for approximately 8-1/2 miles. Turn left on Seven Hills Road. Continue 1/2 mile and turn left on Bowers Harbor Road, winery on left.

  1998 "Estate" Dry Riesling
Soft gooseberry and apple flavors, floral nose, crisp acidity and hint of lavender honey. An excellent food wine. Beverage Tasting Institute: 86 points.
  2000 Chardonnay
Short barrel fermentation in 100% French Oak, abundant fruit, rich complexity and a smooth finish.
  2001 Reserve Chardonnay
100% French Oak fermentation, silky texture, creamy, rich sophisticated complexity, with a smooth, lingering finish.
  2002 "Unwooded" Chardonnay
Fresh, lean style, the stainless steel fermentation, and "sur-lie" aging result in an elegant wine, that of a classic Burgundian Chardonnay.
  2002 Gewurztraminer
Delightful aromatics, complex flavors, round soft fruit, and just a touch of spice.
  2002 Merlot
Our Merlot is rich and supple with moderate tannins, there are hints of black cherry, plums and chocolate. Ideal with grilled meats and also pairs well with cheese.
  2002 Pinot Noir
This wine expresses soft fruit and an earthy character. The brick red color and extreme clarity begin the expirience of this Burgundian style Pinot. Our Pinot Noir has a light body, complex flavors, and a lingering, elegant finish.
  2002 Sweet Reserve Riesling
Orange blossom nose, rich golden fruit, and a pleasantly sweet finish.
  2003 Pinot Grigio
Tropical, grapefruit nose, with hints of melon and banana. Bright, crisp fruit, and a clean finish. This will be a delightful accompaniment with food, or on its own.
  2003 Rose
Subtle aromas of apple, berry, and earth. This dry Rose has flavors of watermelon and strawberry, with a soft lasting finish. A perfect summer wine.
  2003 Semi-Dry Riesling
Soft green apple, pineapple and melon, with some citrus tones. Subtle sweetness, and slight crisp finish.
  2896 Langley
BEST OF CLASS, MI State Fair. Full of balance and subtle oak, a supple mouth feel, flavors of black cherry, berry and clove, beautiful crimson and violet tints, with a long rich finish.
  Blanc de Blanc
An extra dry sparkling, with a harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Riesling, to produce a toasty and elegant methode champenoise, with a bright, crisp finish.
  Bowers Harbor Red
Medium bodied, and very smooth, with hints of cherry and berry, a bright garnet color, and ready to drink.
  Cherry Wine
Liquid cherry pie, bright, cheerful, and crisp, with tart colorful fruit.
  Cooper
Very similar to Otis with a sweeter finish.
  Otis
75% Chardonnay, 25% Riesling, a nice floral nose, soft fruit flavors, citrus nuances, low acidity, and clean finish.
  Red Wagon Red
Off dry red wine with berries, cherries and a soft finish.
  Riesling Reserve
  Spiced Cherry Wine
Cloves, orange peels, jammy, and spicy.
