Boone Brewing Company

Boone Brewing Company Since 2005, local High Country business professionals, Todd Rice and Jeff Walker, have been collaborating on a beer recipe to fit their love of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Principals of Boone Brewing Company, LLC, and the brand owners of Blowing Rock Ale and seasonal brews, Todd and Jeff take great pride in bringing their dream to reality. Both feel comfort and responsibility in calling the Blue Ridge Mountains home. The beauty of the mountains, the energy and enthusiasm of their mountaineer neighbors and their personal associations inspired them to pursue a brew that could capture the best of this area. They invite you to go to the mountains through a Blowing Rock Ale or seasonal brew! The concept for Blowing Rock Ale evolved through recognizing the demand for a locally recognized ale. Sharing their mutual love for the Blue Ridge Mountains and following previous professional experiences in international cities, Todd and Jeff realized the dynamic was there to build a local brand and a local company. Boone Brewing Company, LLC incorporated.

Products

Blowing Rock Bock - Spring Lager
Blowing Rock Bock is fermented with a proprietary lager yeast strain and aged for 5 weeks. Typical of the traditional German Bock style, its light copper tone is characterized by a toasty malt backbone derived from a combination of domestic 2 row malt and imported German specialty malts. The kettle hopping is derived from German Hallertau to impart a well balanced bitterness with only subtle hop aroma.
  Blowing Rock High Country Ale
This American style Ale is fermented with a proprietary ale yeast strain that provides a distinct fruity-ester aroma and flavor. The deep golden product is characterized by a balanced hop bitterness and evident but not overwhelming hops aroma. The kettle hopping is derived from American Cascade & Centennial hops, with generous dry hopping during post-fermentation aging.
  Blowing Rock Oktoberfest
A German Marzen style brew, this vibrant copper colored lager is characterized by big malt favor and roasted caramel aroma. Its healthy addition of Hallertau hops is present in reflection of this heady change of seasons.
  Blowing Rock Summer Ale
Blowing Rock Summer Ale is brewed in style of a Belgian White, or Witbier.Typical of the style, the product is fermented with a Belgian "wit" yeast strain. This hazy ale is characterized by a grain bill of pale malts and white wheat. The kettle hopping is signature Czech Saaz, and late kettle additions of orange peel and coriander spice further accentuate this highly enjoyable summer ale.
  Blowing Rock Winter Ale
This Ale could be compared to an Imperial/Double Red. It is fermented with a proprietary ale yeast strain that provides a moderate fruity-ester aroma and slight flavor. This deep, copper toned ale is characterized by its balanced hop bitterness and spicy noble hop flavors. The kettle hopping is derived from German Hersbrucker & American Cascade. The spicy overtones are complemented by a generous portion of whole-leaf hops added to the fermenter and American Cascade hops added to the aging tank.
