San Martiño Winery & Vineyards

San Martiño Winery & Vineyards Welcome to San Martiño Winery & Vineyards. We are a small family-owned winery specializing in handcrafted wines using modern techniques but with a traditional “soul” borne in the fertile lands of northwestern Spain. The village of San Martiño, (see picture below), located in the mountains of the Galician region, has been making traditional wines for hundreds of years. Known for its Albariños and Ribeiro wines, traditional techniques matched with modern technology produce exquisite wines with incredible varietal and complex characteristics. It was at the village of San Martiño that our love and knowledge of wine and wine making techniques started. Through years of watching and helping our family in the vineyard and production room, we came to appreciate the special relationship between people, land and the food they grow. Borrowing from the traditions of the San Martiño village and its people, the tenacity and resolution of our family and the learned modern techniques of California wine makers, we present to you our dream. Our heritage is rich and although we are not Texas largest winery, we aim to be the best winery in the Lone Star State. Here you can watch us grow and participate with us as we travel together in this adventure because we know that without you we are not. Our facility is available for rent now for your special events. Check the event page and the rental policies and prices by clicking on Events on the menu on the top of the page. So come by and visit with us while relaxing with a glass or bottle of your favorite wine. You can choose one of our Tapa plates to pair with our wines or bring your own picnic and enjoy a break from the rat race.

This is a blend of our Merlot, meaning "young blackbird" in French, our Zinfandel and Sangiovese from west Texas. It alludes to the grape's stunning dark-blue color and results in a wine that is striking to the eye and plush on the palate. With mild herbaceous notes and earthy undertones, this is old-world in style, but by no means meek.

On the palate it is medium-bodied with berry flavors and a touch of vanilla. The tannins are soft and the wine has a fruity finish.
  Sangiovese
We can't call our Sangiovese a Chianti because only wines produced in the Chianti region of Italy may be called by that name. But, we followed strictly the wine making methodology used in Tuscany in creating our 2004 Sangiovese. It is a Chianti in every respect with the exception that it was made in Texas with grapes grown in Texas. Pair it with pasta, salmon or your favorite spicy dish.
