Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grow extremely well in our Napa Valley vineyards where the fuit fully matures and displays complex flavors and balance. The grapes were picked by hand in September and October 2001 and gently made into wine. Our Cabernet Sauvignon wine was aged in small oak barrels to enhance the fruit flavors and to lengthen the smooth finish.

The vibrant, dark ruby color of this wine is followed by a vivacious cherry and violet nose. The fruit-forward flavors begin with red berry enhanced by a slight hint of wood. Helena Dakota's powerful fruit flavor continues to unfold, with black fruit and a note of cedar. The impressive structure of this wine, coupled with soft tannins, lends to a long, refined finish.Remarkably soft tannins give this 2001 vintage wine a velvet-like quality.

The fruit for this wine is exceptionally concentrated, as indicated by the deep, dark purple color, and the rich, black fruit bouquet. Although black fruit also prevails in the full-bodied flavor, hints of chocolate and espresso are present. Remarkably soft tannins give this 2001 vintage wine a velvet-like quality.
