Ambrosia Orchard is a 12 acre apple orchard, cidery, and meadery, founded in 2018 by Blanca and Edison Bender. The orchard and tasting room are located on US 27, 15 minutes south of Downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. The entire property is family friendly. Leashed pets are allowed outside (no tigers or bears please)
Edison was born into the apple business, his mom and dad having started an orchard shortly before he was born. When Edison met Blanca, they started selling the family orchard fruit at farmers markets around the Fort Wayne area.
Nearly a decade later, in 2018, husband and wife team set out to plant an orchard of their own. The decision on location was immediate, knowing it needed to be in southeast Allen County. They knew the area needed some more things to do, and as local residents the rose to the challenge.
They found the perfect 12 acre property, and now it was time to plant roots. In early 2019, a 500 tree orchard was planted on about 2 acres with about 25 varieties. These include heritage and unique cider apple trees, modern eating apples, and Asian pears.
