Warehouse Distillery is owned and operated by my family, the Setzers. Ron, Stephanie, Andie and I are a close knit, hard-working family, born and raised right here in Catawba County.
Yes, we all do have a deep "admiration" (as we like to say) of all kinds of booze. But how did we decide to get into the spirits business?!
?After graduating from UNCG with a degree in entrepreneurship, Andie found herself unsettled by the thought of working for anyone other than herself. One of our favorite anecdotes is that she told our parents, “How can I get a degree in not working for anyone else and go work for someone else?”. Ron and Stephanie (aka Papa Ron and Mama Steph) also had 10,000 square feet of vacant, dusty warehouse that needed a tenant and some TLC. With frustration mounting, they decided to fix their undesirable predicaments.
So with a desire to bring new business to our hometown and an appreciation for well-crafted booze, Warehouse Distillery was born in May 2015. The next step was to convince the stubborn one, me, to join the family adventure. With a twist or three of the arm, I finally conceded. Over the next three years, blood, sweat, tears and a myriad of curse words were poured into the renovations and paperwork. Despite a few frustrations along the way, we look forward to the joys and frustrations of the future and are thrilled to bring the first craft distillery to our hometown of Newton, NC. Our mission when we established Warehouse Distillery was to cultivate a passion for craft spirits and empower future generations of entrepreneurs. We aim to uphold that mission, for the love of booze.
