Hickory Creek Winery Creating world class wines from grapes grown exclusively on Lake Michigan's eastern shore, Hickory Creek's team of owners, Michael de Schaaf, David Leslie and Gottfried Hart, bring to bear the distinct perspectives of three premier wine-growing nations: America, Australia, and Germany. Sharing a lifelong passion for their craft, Hickory Creek utilizes only the highest quality estate grown and select local vineyard fruits.

Directions
Take I-94 exit 12 in Michigan. At the end of the ramp, proceed west to Red Arrow Highway, then a right to Browntown Road which is one block north. Head east on Browntown Road for about 6 miles. You are going to cross Califonia Road and then Cleveland Avenue. When you see Gardner Road, we are just around the curve on the right hand side - the big red barn on the hill. Our sign is right at the end of our driveway.

  Apple Wine
Apple wine is an old time Michigan treat, made from heirloom apples, such as Rhode Island Greening, Rome and Winesap. Well balanced with ripe apple and spicy flavors. Begs for gorgonzola!
  Cabernet Franc – Rose
Surprisingly big, off dry, juicy and rich with the flavor of early summer berries. Full of smoky tarragon, herbal anise and black cherries.
  Chardonnay
Rich, clean and vibrant. An inviting and lively wine. The flavors of honeydew, melon and Gala apple marry together and are balanced by a hint of lime. Slightly creamy and toasty. Aged carefully in French Oak barrels.
  Estate Riesling
Elegant & breezy. A medium body, delicacy of texture, with well married notes of lychee, white peach and orange blossom.Well defined mineral structure with crisp long lemony finish. Totally dry, long lived in cellar
  Gewürztraminer
Exotic treat, classic dry style. Sensuously smooth, wonderful texture and viscous mouth feel. Lively balance of honey, rose petals and peach complemented by hints of spice and perfume followed by a long dry aromatic finish. Delicious now but will gain in spiciness and aroma with time in cellar.
  Pinot Noir
Smoky bouquet of raspberry, cranberry and some mineral gives way to tart cherry with a light oak finish. Great with well marbled meats or wild game. Good ageing potential.
  Riesling
Refreshingly floral, reminiscent of spring rain. Medium body, delicate texture and well-married notes of lychee, white peach and orange blossom. Good balance of fruit and minerals, mouthwatering finish. Totally dry, long lived in cellar.
