Madison Vineyards

Madison Vineyards' 37 acres, located five miles north of the Ohio River, are ideally situated for grape growing. With their first plantings in 1995 Steve and Sandy Palmer began phase one of their grape growing plan. In a few years they intend to produce 100 percent estate wines. They currently produce white, red and blush wines in dry and off-dry styles.
A large deck affords guests a sweeping view of the grassy picnic area, outdoor stage and surrounding hills. Free tasting of wines and weekend tours of the vineyard and winery are available. Wine related items are sold in the tasting room. The winery is available for private tastings and parties. Hours: Sunday - Monday: Noon to 6pm
Thursday - Friday: Noon to 6pm
Saturday: 11am to Sunset

Directions
From Indianapolis: Take I-74 East to Hwy 421 (Greensburg exit). Go southeast on Hwy 421 through Greensburg and south through Versailles to the first stop light north of Madison at CR 400 N. Turn left (east). Winery is on left, 1.3 miles from turn.

Dimensions
A medium bodied Bordeaux styled blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Cabernet Franc. Aromas of Chocolate and Dark Cherry and flavors of plums, raspberry and chocolate covered bananas. This is a great wine with all meats and even Sandy's famous Walnut Fudge.

Foch Nouveau
Always a favorite. Made in the traditional Nouveau method of carbonic maceration, this lively, fuity, young red is released every 3rd Thursday in November. Just in time for the Holidays. Very limited quantity. Gold Medal winner 2000 Pacific Rim wine competition. "A wine exibiting perfect varietal charecter and complexity"- Chairman of the Pacific Rim International Wine Competition held in California.

Fume Vidal
(foo-MAY VEE-doll) A dry white, fermented and aged in Hungarian oak wich gives it the "Fume" or smoky charecter. Medium bodied, fruity, rich and complex. Primaraly produced from the Vidal Blanc grape yet a percentage of Seyval Blanc is added for added demensions. This is also %100 Estate grown in our vineyards.

Kleineweiss
(KLINE-uh-VISE) - Our German-style "little white" Produced from 100% estate Cayuga White grapes. off-dry with a delicate peach aroma. With a crisp, floral and complex earthy flavor. Perfect for a picnic.

Mystique
A ripe, fragrant and lucsious vineyard blend. This wine represents the romance, mystery and mystique of the vineyard. Tastes of rich berries picked from the vine in the early mornings of harvest. A rich, roasted almond flavor with amazing complexity.

Petit Blanc
A blend of two estate grown grapes to produce this "Little White" in a French style. a dry white wine with toasty oak flavors of vanilla and apricot and crisp citris aromas.

Rose
("Like the Flower") - Our first sparkling wine. Made in the traditional Mothode Champenoise. An off-Dry, Pink bubbly offering muted sweet cherry flavors. Very Limited Quantity

ROSSO
Look Out! Our newsest release is in the style of the great "Vin Di Tavola" wines of Northwestern Italy. Dark cherry, raspberry and rustic earthy flavors. Great table red. Serve with red sauces or creamy garlic dishes. To be served with a smile !

Seyval Blanc
(Say-vahl BLAWN)- A dry, white wine. Medium bodied, complex floral aromas with a hint of butterscotch and melon. Fermented and aged in New Hungarian & French Oak barrels for a seleccted amount of time for added depth and flavor. " This golden colored, Mid-Season rippener produces wonderful white wines of tremendous depth and character wich rival any white wine around the world."

(VEEn-yole)- a fresh, off-dry white wine with a delicate flower blossom, mild grapefruit character. Clean, crisp flavors recalling a true Chablis.
