Morgantown Brewing Company
|
|
Morgantown Brewing Company (MBC) re-opened in 2009, under new ownership, revitalizing West Virginia’s oldest operating brewery. The team at MBC is committed to high-quality, on-premise craft brews that satisfy the evolving tastes of today’s responsible beer consumers. Currently, the brewery offers nine craft brews in its arsenal with several seasonal brews and small-batch special brews in the works. MBC is open Tuesday through Sunday and offers full-service dining, a large outdoor deck, and Fresh Beer for Home Use packaged in carry-out “growler” containers.
MBC offers a unique dining and brewery experience by commemorating the days of old; a time when hard work and ground-level values were the norm. Pioneering settlers, coal miners, steel workers and the hands that shaped our city and state shared a philosophy of determination and simplicity. We commit ourselves to showcase that special piece of history in our facility, and to showcase that same determination and simplicity in our products and in our service. High quality ingredients, dedication to quality, and “good people serving good people” is the row we’ll hoe.

80 Shilling Scotch Ale
The 80 Shilling Scotch Ale is a traditional Scottish session beer reflecting indigenous ingredients (water, malt), with less hops than their English counterparts (due to the need to import them). Long, cool fermentations are traditionally used in Scottish brewing.
Our Scotch ale starts with a beautiful off-white head above an intense amber body. A faint peaty aroma compliments a light caramel sweet entrance that gives way to a hint of smokiness and a dry finish. An ultra clean malty beer that will get your bagpipes blazing!

Alpha Blonde Ale
A seductively soft, easy drinking blonde ale, with an emphasis on a fragile and complex malt character. Made with Belgian candi sugar, honey malt and select Belgian and American grain. Slightly sweet and creamy; perfect for the session connoisseur and the timid domestic drinker looking for an introductory craft beer.
This brew was made to please the novice craft beer drinker. Dubbed the "domestic with a kick" it provides a smooth, pleasant flavor throughout. More flavorful than your domestic beers, but light enough that anyone can enjoy.

Brookside Saison
Our Brookside Saison is a sunlight hued complex ale traditionally brewed for summer farm workers. Grains of paradise leave a slight peppery note, while Belgian yeast provides hints of fruit that round our our dry, highly drinkable brew.
|
Coal City Stout
A dry stout that opens with a creamy wave that rolls off the tongue to unveil slight bittersweet chocolate and espresso undertones. A big bold brown head tops this midnight black brew, which features a light body, low hop bitterness, and grainy goodness throughout.
|
Kettle Bottom Brown
A medium bodied, moderately hopped American Brown Ale featuring a chestnut hue, and light beige colored head. Noted of chocolate and toasted nuttiness throughout, finishing slightly dry.
|
Old Morgantown Amber
Traditional American Amber Ale with a seductive auburn complexion. A mild caramel sweetness leads to an exquisite balancing act of malt and hops before a smooth and pleasantly floral and earthy ending.
|
Two Weeks Lager
Our lightest beer on the spectrum, this clean, refreshing North German Pilsner is light in body and effervescent with European noble hops (Saaz). Finishing dry, this beer showcases a single flavor profile. Like many lagers very straight forward with no complex ale flavors.
|
Zack Morgan's IPA
A beautiful copper brew ripe with citrus aroma from legendary American Cascade hops. The nice, initial hop bite fades to reveal the perfect subtleties of a well-rounded India Pale Ale. Notice hints of orchard fruit crispness that will leave the palate begging for more.
