Beyond The Mountain Brewing Company grew out of a mutual love of artisanal beer and live music between two lifelong friends. Their dream was to one day own a brewery that cultivated the comradery and spirit of both the craft beer and music scenes. Charles Hixon and Morgan Way have a combined 20 years of home brewing experience and nearly ten years of experience working in the brewing industry; including brewing positions in both Denver and Boulder. To showcase their creativity and reflect the influence of improvisational music, Beyond The Mountain will only have 5 year round beers on their 12 taps. The rest of the taps will be filled by one off and seasonal beers developed with innovation and echoing the concept of improvisation.
In seeking to solidify the connection between music and beer, Beyond The Mountain will host an “Artist Series” of beers that are brewed in collaboration with both local and nationally touring bands. Proceeds from these beers will go to a charity of the artists choosing. To keep with the spirit of the brewery, the stage will not just be home to standard performances by artists but also used as a platform for developing side projects, acoustic sets, and any other atypical performance in an intimate and supportive environment. When live music is not scheduled, expect to hear a wide ranging variety of bluegrass and rock focusing on improvisation. Vinyl night will allow for patrons to decide the music being played by requesting albums from an extensive collection or bringing in their own LPs. Taper night will feature full sets from artists at the top of their genre. With a state of the art projection system, Beyond The Mountain will also host webcasts in full HD whenever possible. Additionally, classic shows available on DVD will be played on select nights.
