Loew Vineyards

Loew Vineyards Renewing a European family tradition of fine wine-making, Loew Vineyards was established in 1982. The rolling hills of the Maryland countryside provide an ideal setting for growing both vinifera and French-American grapes. Visitors are welcome to enjoy a stroll through the vineyards and to sample our estate-bottled wines. Hours: Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm.

Directions
From Bethesda/Washington,DC: Take 270 North to Exit 16, Father Hurley Blvd, which becomes Rte 27 towards Damascus. Proceed through Damascus and Mt Airy and continue for another 7 miles or so. Turn left at the intersection with Rte 26 (Liberty Rd.) Proceed 5 miles, slowing down when you see the sign for Albaugh Rd. Our entrance is 1/10th of a mile from that point, on the left. From Baltimore: Drive west (towards Frederick) on Rte 70. Exit at Mt. Airy, bearing right. Continue about 7 miles to the intersection with Rte 26. Follow the above directions from that point. From Frederick: Drive east on Rte 26 straight to the winery. From the light in Libertytown, we are 3.5 miles, on the right hand side of Liberty Rd.

  Chardonnay
Barrel-fermented, elegant, smooth
  Chardonnay in Pink
Semi-sweet blend of Chardonnay and Cabernet.
  Chardonnay Reserve
An exceptional vintage, with full fruit and lingering aftertaste. Fermented in the barrel for complexity and rich full body. Best served lightly chilled with well seasoned poultry or fish.
  Classic Red
Blend of Marechal Foch, Leon Millot and Cabernet Franc, enhanced by a beaujolais style of fermentation. A favorite with spicy Italian style dishes and pasta.
  Country Classic
Red wine aged in oak and finished with a touch of sweetness. A great 'front porch' wine.
  Harvest Gold
A blend of Seyval Blanc and Chardonnay; clean and crisp, with a fruity bouquet. Aged in oak.
  Harvest Red
A rich blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chancellor. Aged in oak barrels for a complex taste and toasty bouquet.
  Honey & Grape
The family tradition of honey wine now spans more than a century; a golden blend of grapes with local honey. Rich, complex; ages beautifully.
  Johannisberg Riesling
Crafted in the traditional European style, with a delightful apricot/honey bouquet and just a touch of sweetness.
  Raspberry in Grape
A new offering. A vibrant blend of Raspberry with Vidal Blanc. Sweet and sassy. Best served chilled and shared with friends.
  Sauvignon Blanc
Crisp, with notes of citrus and a smooth finish. A gold medal winner. A food-friendly wine, pairing well with appetizers as well as poultry or fish.
  Serendipity
Our own unique discovery, a refreshing wine made from the Reliance grape, with a fruity character reminiscent of pineapple or melon.
  Seyval Blanc
A varietal fermented in oak barrels (sur lie) in the European style. Well structured with complex notes of apple and pear. Great with poultry or seafood.
  Twilight
Delicate blend of Seyval and Riesling, ideal for sipping or to serve with light meals.
  Two Consenting Grapes
A scintillating blend of Chardonnay and Reliance, with zesty notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Try matching this wine with spicy, peppery foods.
