Forbidden Fruit Winery & Cidery

The winery is located in the very southern end of the Similkameen Valley right on the Similkameen River. The location of this farm is surrounded by natural desert habitat and old growth river bottom forest giving the feeling of a pristine garden (eden). Kim Brind'Amour and I ,Steve Venables are the owner/ managers. The winery is the latest development of our Ven'Amour Organic Farms. Previous projects include Harvest Moon Retreat Guesthouse and Mosaics Gallery. The family farm has been Organic since 1977,recieving Certified Organic Status in 1984 the year Certification began in BC. Fruit varieties grown include Asian Pears, White Peaches, White Cherries, and for iced wine varieties (apples, pears, cherries etc.). Ssignature wines are our Asian Pear off dry, our White Peach Dessert and our Iced Apple,

Adam's Apple
Our Adam's Apple white table wine is loving crafted from the perfect blend of 6 different apple varieties, all grown in the pristine Similkameen Valley. This crystal clear wine offers a palate of crisp, clean citrus, a long finish of tangerine and pineapple, and will be enjoyed with veggie dishes, salads, salmon, shellfish, an exotic cheeses. .

Cerise d'Eve
Cerise d'Eve is lovingly crafted from fresh, sweet Cherries. Made in the authentic port style, this wine is aged with oak and envelopes the true characteristics of deep rich cherries.
It is a shimmering red port wine with huge aromas of ripe cherries. Bursts of red ripe cherry flavour govern the complex nature of the oak aged port wine which is an excellent accompaniment to dark chocolate desserts and after dinner digestifs.

Crushed Innocence
Our Crushed Innocence Wine is lovingly crafted from 100% White Fleshed Peaches. The crushing of this pure and delicate fruit captures the real heavenly bodied expression of peach elixir.
It is a clear, translucent wine, with a full summer bouquet of honeysuckle and wildflowers, with notes of perfume. The velvety smooth flavour bursts with peach and passion fruit, plus hints of orange and is wonderful on its own or with fruit salads, desserts and light cheeses

Ice Lady Mistelle
A light golden wine made from certified organically grown Similkameen valley apples: pink lady and other fall varieties. The wine has aromas of fresh apple blossom with flavors of fresh apple butter puree, honey, almond and a hint of licorice with a long finish. Wonderful as an aperitif or after dinner on it’s own or with cheeses and favorite desserts.

Impearfection
Impearfection embodies the frail and exotic delicacy of the Asian Pear and blends it sinfully with its own sugars and spices.
Asian Pear wine is a light gold colour with complex aromas of papaya, mango, wildflower honey, and ginger. It exudes pure flavours of allspice, creme caramel, honey, and tropical fruit. Enjoy this complex wine with Asian Cuisine, Cheesecakes, Creme Brulee, or with an ice cube on the patio.

Pearsuasion
A dry white wine made from certified organic Bartlett pears. Aged briefly with French oak, this wine has aromas and flavors of ripe melting pears with citrus and hints of lemongrass on the palate. Wonderful with cheeses, coconut milk and curry dishes, light meats and salads.
