Two farm kids in Iowa fall in love, get married, and search for a farm of their own. It’s not such an unusual story in this neck of the woods. Except this version has an interesting twist.
Preston and Amber Gable were high school sweethearts in northwest Iowa. After graduation, they both attended Iowa State University, where Preston made his first batch of wine. Neither of them knew at the time that Preston’s experiment would fuel a dream that was years in the making.
But that’s just what happened. After graduation, Preston and Amber got married and settled down into careers. And, slowly at first, they made plans to open their own winery.
After almost a year of searching they found the perfect location for their winery - a nearly century old brick barn. Working nights and weekends, the Gables completely remodeled the barn. In addition to a tasting room on the main floor, the barn’s loft has been completely remodeled to host groups of up to 150 people.
