Arista Winery

Arista Winery Founded in 2002 in Sonoma County, Arista Winery focuses on Pinot Noir with many small offerings, each an expression of an outstanding local vineyard. Above all, we are devoted to the potential of Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley. Partners John Copeland and Al and Janis McWilliams are developing the Arista Estate on the benchlands above scenic Westside Road - planting vineyards and building a winery and public tasting room. They are collaborating with local growers whose grapes consistently meet the high standards for vineyard-designated wines. Arista’s national debut will offer vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs from the 2003 vintage. Currently Arista wines are available in the winery tasting room, located a few blocks from Healdsburg's plaza.

  Ferrington Vineyard Gewürztraminer
Arista’s Ferrington Vineyard Gewürztraminer shows a spicy, perfumed nose with a hint of lychee nut. Intense and full-bodied, the wine has a classic, long, bone dry finish. Drink now, but also hide a few bottles to enjoy in 10 - 12 years
  Harper's Rest Pinot Noir
Rueben Harper, a Russian River Valley pioneer, settled here in the early 1800s. A farmer, he worked his land until he passed away in 1857. His resting place, under a stately Bay Laurel on our 20-acre Westside Road estate, overlooks the vineyard that produced grapes for this wine. This is a cool climate region that yields Pinot Noir with attractive, traditional attributes. Black cherry and mixed dark berries combine with rhubarb and earthen nuances creating a layered and complex wine, punctuated with a fantastic, extended finish.
  Longbow Pinot Noir
Arista’s owner, John Copeland, traces his family history to England in 1346 when King Edward III knighted Sir John Copeland, honoring his prowess with the longbow. Handcrafted, with bowstrings of silk, the longbow made England a dominant power; the archers were the elite of England’s infantry. Arista’s Longbow is the Winemaker’s Selection - focused, powerful and intense. From vineyards in the Russian River Valley, this wine delivers full, ripe black cherry with notes of cola and sassafras. Toasty oak blends with firm tannins and abundant fruit, creating a complex wine.
  Pine Mountain Zinfandel
A big rush of exotic Zinfandel, this wine floods the senses with aromas and flavors of berries, black cherries and plums. This is a wine of towering flavors. A bold cheese, perhaps one produced from sheep's milk, will pair well with the wine's big flavor profile.
  Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
A classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, the wine shows the purity of fruit from our appellation. The Russian River’s cool climate produces wines of great depth and concentration. Here they develop elegant profiles - Pinot Noir’s most admired quality. Perfumed spice and hints of earth overlay sweet red cherries and dark plums. The wine displays bold, youthful exuberance, suggesting early enjoyment.
  Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
At Arista we are committed to a house style of elegance and finesse. Barrel fermented in mature oak, this is a delicious and accessible wine but also has the weight and structure to develop over time. Made from grapes grown in the Russian River Valley, this cool climate Sauvignon Blanc has full, mouth-filling flavors balanced by a crisp acidity.
  Russian River Valley Zinfandel
This wine is a must for those Zinfandel fans who favor a style of elegance and finesse. The wine is made from grapes harvested off eighty-year-old vines. Allspice and black brambly berries perfume the nose. The flavors follow on the palate with a sweet, silky mouthfeel balanced by perfect acidity. Woven layers of complexity produce a finish that is long and lingering, inviting the next taste.
