Shelton Vineyards

Shelton Vineyards The Premier Winery in the East. Founded in 1999, Shelton Vineyards is the largest family-owned estate winery in North Carolina. Located in the Yadkin Valley near Dobson and Mt. Airy, NC, the winery features a spacious visitor center with a tasting bar and gift shop. Shelton Vineyards offers tours and tastings every day of the week. Shelton Vineyards’ grounds are beautifully landscaped, and picnicking is encouraged. Picnic supplies are available on the premises. During the summer months, we sponsor a summer concert series on our outdoor stage. Shelton Cheeses & Deli is located on the estate and offers handcrafted artisan style cheeses and gourmet lunches. Retail hours for the winery and cheese shop are from 10 am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday, and 1 pm to 5pm on Sunday. Summer hours vary.

Directions
Directions From Charlotte: Take I-77 North to Exit 93 (Dobson), then follow the signs to the vineyard. We are approximately 1 ½ hours north of Charlotte. Directions From Winston-Salem /Greensboro/Triangle: Take I-40 West to Highway 421 North. Take I-77 North to Exit 93 (Dobson). Follow the signs to the vineyard. We are approximately 1 hour from Winston-Salem, 1 ½ hours from Greensboro and 2 ½ hours from the Triangle area. Please note that Exit 93 is approximately 20 minutes from where Highway 421 meets I-77.

Classic Pinot Noir flavors of Bing cherry with a subtle hint of dusky spice and toasty oak framed with polished elegant tannins. Tasting Notes
  Riesling
Clean and crisp, our Riesling displays green-apple and pear flavors. This lightly sweet wine has a bright acidity and a lingering apricot finish. Wonderful for entertaining.
  Salem Fork Blush
Clean and crisp with citrus flavors of tangerine and orange. Sweet and fruity. Ready to be enjoyed by itself or with food. Serve chilled. Tasting Notes
  Salem Fork Snow Hill White
  Salem Fork Zephyr Red
A sweet red wine with cranberry and crabapple flavors. Perfect for picnics and light meals. Serve slightly chilled. Tasting Notes
  Sangiovese
Light in color, with a relatively high level of acidity, this wine is has vibrant flavors of dried cherry and cassis. A delightful accompaniment to Marinara and other tomato-based sauces. Tasting Notes
  Yadkin Valley Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc is one of the parent grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon but is typically lighter in color and tannins. Our Cab Franc displays subtle notes of violet and plum. Spicy flavors linger over a slightly toasty finish. Tasting Notes
  Yadkin Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Smooth and supple with black cherry, anise, and dark chocolate notes that are sturdy through the finish. Has strong coffee undertones and balanced acidity. Tasting Notes
  Yadkin Valley Chardonnay
This dry wine has complex oak character and focused citrus flavors that are rounded out with just a hint of honeydew and baked apple. Delicate shadings of butterscotch and hazelnut accent its velvety rich texture.
  Yadkin Valley Family Reserve Claret
A bold red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. It is laced with flavors of blackberry, tea, chocolate, and vanilla. Limited production of 100 cases. Tasting Notes
  Yadkin Valley Merlot
