AmByth was named so for the Welsh words "forever". In Wales, it is actually spelled as two words: am byth, but we have put them together to form our own name. And appropriately enough, we plan on being here forever! We planted the first stage of our vineyard in February 2004, this is a 7 1/2 acre block known as Mark's Vineyard. Over the next two years we have completed planting a total of 17 acres (StoneCross Hill, PlayGround and Terrace) including about 500 olive trees interspersed between the different vine variatels. We are a dry-farmed, head-trained vineyard. As of October 2006, we are a certified Biodynamic vineyard (as a result we are organic, as well) and orchard by the Demeter Association. AmByth Estate is our endeavor to be stewards of the land, part of the cycles of the earth, enriching our lives through growing and farming. We are Phillip Hart and Mary Morwood Hart.
