Our specialty is Normandy style hard ciders. Think dry apple champagne.
We began with a farm on Washington Island, which sits atop a hill overlooking Lake Michigan. A few big craggy old apple trees studded the property. Slowly planting cider cultivars from France, England and America, we tested the types that would work best with the Island’s climate and rocky limestone soil. The orchard has expanded with our passion for cider. We grow 29 apple cultivars from sharps to bitter-sharps to dessert apples and 10 varieties of pear, totaling in 1400 apple and 400 pear trees.
