What’s long been our personal vision has finally become a reality. In the Fall of 2002, we opened what we hoped would quickly become recognized as one of North Carolina’s signature vineyards and winery, Overmountain Vineyards. Eight years later, in 2010, our tasting room opened and the excitement has been growing, along with our business, ever since.
Nestled at the gateway of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Overmountain Vineyards is planted on 20 acres of fertile farmland in the Tryon Foothills of Polk County. You will enjoy the picturesque views as you enjoy a walk through the vineyard.
Tryon, North Carolina was once a leading producer of grapes in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Due to prohibition, grape growing declined but the interest in grapes never left. Tryon is currently growing and experiencing a rebirth in vineyards, producing grapes for winemaking. We are bringing back the agriculture/traditions of the past.
