Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars Visit New York's most award winning winery, founded by the legendary Dr. Konstantin Frank, pioneer grower of European wine grape varieties in the eastern United States, on Keuka Lake in New York State. Founded in 1962, Vinifera Wine Cellars was the first Finger Lakes winery to produce truly world-class table wines. They include: Johannisberg Riesling-Dry and Semi-Dry, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Rkatsiteli, Fleur de Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and others. To this day, Vinifera Wine Cellars - now in the capable hands of Dr. Frank's son Willy and grandson Fred - is regarded as a pillar of the area's fine wine industry.

Directions
From South: Take US Route 17 to either exits 38 or 39 in Bath, NY and follow Highway 54 North to Hammondsport. We're located 6 miles north of Hammondsport. From Route 54A take the first left past Lucy Knapp Real Estate on County Route 76. From North: Take I-90 (N.Y.S. Thruway) to exit 42 and follow Route 14 South 7 miles through Geneva, NY and about 15 miles further South on Route 14. Take Route 54 West 4 miles to Penn Yan, then 54A to Branchport. From the Branchport blinking red light, turn left to stay on Route 54A. Go about 9 miles and turn right up Gibson Hill Road. Go straight through the Yield sign and turn left at the Stop sign (County Rt. 76). There is a Dr. Frank's sign there. Go about 1 mile to the next Dr. Frank's sign and turn left. Turn right at sign and then right again into our driveway.

  Cuveé Blanc
Cuveé Blanc is an elegant, smooth blend of Vinifera grapes including Chardonnay and Johannisberg Riesling. Cuveé Blanc is the perfect accompaniment to all dishes calling for a dry white wine.
  Dr. Frank Cabernet Franc
The 2010 Cabernet Franc presents a nose of roasted red pepper and prune that lengthens with oaky and spicy tones. On the palate, this wine displays great elegance with soft tannins and a smooth long finish.
  Dr. Frank Cabernet Sauvignon
Light and delicate with soft perfume, the dark, deep black currant color is followed with a nose of raspberry and cherry with a touch of leathery notes.
  Dr. Frank Chardonnay
Dr. Frank Chardonnay (2010) The nose on the 2010 Chardonnay begins with an intense blend of pear and apple notes. Fruit and acidity are perfectly balanced with a mere hint of oak and crisp citrus finish.
  Dr. Frank Dry Riesling
This dry Riesling, presenting a green gold hue, displays the traditional qualities of Dr. Frank’s Riesling: crisp acidity, a pronounced mineral character and layers of fruit aromas. Descriptors include honeysuckle, apple, pear, quince and a lot of minerality resulting from the clay terroir of the vineyard. The ripeness of the grapes resulted in a great texture with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
  Dr. Frank Fleur de Pinot Noir (NV)
Reflecting both its origins and vintages, this wine shows very good Pinot Noir character with vibrant raspberry and cherry fruit, soft tannins, lively acidity and a long, clean finish. This Pinot Noir shows the potential that Pinot Noir holds in the Finger Lakes region. A very versatile wine, this Pinot Noir can both be paired with duck breast and other game dishes and with more delicate fish or poultry dishes. This wine has repeatedly shown particular high levels of resveratrol with all of the associated health benefits.
  Dr. Frank Gewürztraminer
The 2006 offering shows the characteristic aromas of grapefruit, lime, lychee, banana and the spiciness associated with the Gewürztraminer variety. The slight residual sugar balances the phenolic elements typical of Gewürztraminer with the complexity of mineral overtones that presents the wine with a long, clean fresh finish. This wine can be paired with spicy dishes with great success.
  Dr. Frank Grüner Veltliner
The 2011 Grüner Veltliner fits perfectly within the Dr. Frank family of wines. The wonderful nose is a treat of floral, melon and honeysuckle while the mouth has subtle herbal notes and balanced layered textures in the background that finish off with the typical Grüner Veltliner white pepper heat. It is food friendly wine and pairs well with everything from scallops and roasted vegetables to grilled pork tenderloin.
  Dr. Frank Johannisberg Semi-Dry Riesling
This Semi-Dry Johannisberg Riesling, presenting a light golden hue, shows a fruitier less mineral character than the dry Riesling. The bouquet is dominated by ripe fruit such as melon, pear, pineapple, blossom floral elements and honeysuckle. The mouthfeel shows a good balance between the residual sugar and the acidic backbone typical of Riesling with a long finish.
  Dr. Frank Lemberger
The Lemberger grape is a cool climate red grape from Central Europe particularly well suited to the Finger Lakes region of New York. Lemberger produces a lighter style wine with forest floor notes on the nose and flavors of cranberry and ripe apple on the palate. Serve with garlic infused lamb, hummus pasta and grilled dishes.
  Dr. Frank Merlot
The 2010 Merlot shows the qualities that have made this grape variety a favorite.
  Dr. Frank Pinot Noir
This wine shows all the classic attributes of Pinot Noir from an exceptionally ripe vintage: deep Burgundy color, cherry, plum and blackberry aromas with cloves and forest floor undertones, impressive ripe tannins and a long clean finish. This wine shows the potential that Pinot Noir holds in the Finger Lakes region. It will accompany your meat and game dishes with great harmony.
  Dr. Frank Riesling Reserve
This Johannisberg Riesling, presenting a green gold hue, displays the traditional qualities of Dr. Frank’s Riesling: crisp acidity, a pronounced mineral character and layers of fruit aromas. Descriptors include apple, pear, citrus and various floral notes. The wine displays good balance between the acidity, alcohol and sugar and the wine leaves a long, clean finish.
  Dr. Frank Rkatsiteli
The Rkatsiteli shows its characteristic fruity complexity resulting from early bottling. Along with the intense fruit are the typical spicy notes as well as pineapple and mango notes. The wine is presented in a dry version with the crisp acidity, the residual sugar and the tremendous fruit providing a very pleasant balance. The Rkatsiteli remains one of Dr. Frank’s greatest achievements in the Finger Lakes.
  Dr. Frank Semi-Dry Riesling
The Semi-dry Johannisberg Riesling, presenting a light golden hue, shows a fruitier less mineral character than the dry Riesling. The bouquet is dominated by ripe fruity aromas of melon, pear and pineapple. The mouthfeel is very pleasant with a good balance between the residual sugar and the acidic backbone typical of Riesling with a long finish. This Semi-dry Riesling is very enjoyable with spicy food or just on its own.
  Première Blush
Première Blush is a lucious blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with Riesling juice added for sweetness and perfume. The aroma is lovely--strawberries and flowers--and it's not too sweet. The perfect summer wine. Or fall, or winter or spring . .
  Salmon Run Cabernet Franc
The Salmon Run Cabernet Franc shows that this grape variety is well suited to the Finger Lakes. This medium body Cabernet Franc is done more in a Loire Valley style that emphasizes the fruity and earthy tones. On the nose, the wine shows red berry qualities, dry herbs as well as spicy and earthy elements.
  Salmon Run Chardonnay
The floral and fruity bouquets of this wine, with mineral and toasty elements, are in harmony with this style of Chardonnay. The aromas of white peach, quince and melon on the nose give way to a supple texture with good fruit concentration, vibrant acidity and a clean finish. This Chardonnay exemplifies the food friendly style that we strive for at Dr. Frank's with good acidity, integrated and not overwhelming oak, moderate alcohol and a wine not dominated by the malolactic character.
  Salmon Run Coho Red (NV)
Salmon Run Coho Red is exquisitely balanced to present an easy to drink, slightly fruity off-dry taste. Very popular, this vibrantly refreshing red wine is skillfully blended by our winemakers to produce a proprietary blend from classic vinifera grapes. Flavors of raspberries and cherries are wrapped in a soft full-bodied style making this an ideal everyday wine.
  Salmon Run Cold Brook White (NV)
Salmon Run Cold Brook White is made from a blend of Chardonnay and Riesling. This off-dry wine is very appealing with its fruity intensity, moderate acidity and smooth finish. With luscious aromas of figs, plum and melon, this Cold Brook White makes an ideal everyday white wine. Fruity with aromas of plum, melon, citrus and hazelnut, this wine shows great balance. A creamy texture, ripe fruit and a lingering finish make this a very appealing wine to pair with seafood, poultry and lighter fare.
  Salmon Run Meritage
This classic blend of red Bordeaux varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot – extends the range of the Salmon Run into carefully crafted, age-worthy red wines. Barrel aged in mostly French oak barrels for a year, this blend offers both uncommon complexity and value. With its exquisite balance, soft tannins and smooth finish, this wine is certain to appeal to even discerning wine lovers. Composition: 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Cabernet Franc, 54% Merlot

This new Salmon Run Petit Noir has been hand crafted in a light bodied fruity style. The lovely aromas of cherries, plums, cloves and spices compliment the soft bodied weight of a wine that's easily consumed on an everyday basis.
  Salmon Run Pinot Noir (NV)
