4 JG's Orchards & Vineyards

4 JG's Orchards & Vineyards Four JG's Orchards & Vineyards is located in Central New Jersey in a historic farming area. The winery is named after the four owners, John and Janet Giunco and their two children, John (who most know as "Bert") and Jill. The Giunco family has farmed in Monmouth County for over 60 years. Four JG's seek to grow quality fruit and make the highest quality wine. The estate produces wines that are bold in character and rich in fruit. Founded in 1999, Four JG's Orchards & Vineyards is located on a farm with barns and houses that date back to the early 1700's. Four JG's attention to good farming practices and careful selection of rootstock that grow well in the soils of Monmouth County has already produced many award winning wines. Careful adherence to the modern techniques of wine growing is being employed at Four JG's. From winter pruning to fall harvest, the vineyard is closely monitored and constantly maintained to guarantee the wine grapes are exposed to the best combination of hand crafting, sunlight, and water. Four JG's winemakers follow a simple philosophy that only the best grapes grown on their farm are selected to go into the bottle. All Four JG's wines carry the Quality Wine alliance - QWA designation.

  Cayuga White
This hardy white hybrid grape produced for Eastern US regions at Cornell University makes a semi-dry refreshing white wine. Cayuga has a good aroma with hints of melon. Cayuga makes a great summer sipping wine or good compliment to salads and cheeses.
  Chambourcin
This French Hybrid grape produces a ruby color, medium body Chambourcin rich in flavors of black cherry. It is aged in American oak for 12 months and makes a great compliment to pasta or beef.
  Chambourcin Riserva
Four JG's flagship wine, Chambourcin Riserva, was awarded the gold medal in the 2004 New Jersey Governor's Cup. The Chambourcin grape is a French Hybrid with Rhone origins. It is a late-ripening grape that requires a long growing season, but is cold hardy during the winter months, making it perfect for Monmouth County climate. Four Jg's Chambourcin Riserva is a delicate mixture of the hybrid Chambourcin grape and the vinifera Cabernet Franc. Chambourcin Riserva is an enjoyable wine with blackberry and herb aroma. Medium tannins are well integrated into the long finish. It is aged in American Oak barrels for 12 months. It finishes with a pleasing taste that leaves the palette wanting more.
  Chardonnay
This wine is made from the green-skinned European vinifera grape. Four JG's Chardonnay is aged in American Oak which lends a toasty oak flavor to its tropical flavors. It goes well with luncheon salads, lobster and seafood.
  Monmouth Blush
Soon to be released (late Spring 2004), Four JG's has combined the crisp fruity flavors of Vidal Blanc with the French vinifera Cabernet Franc to create a delightful blush wine. The crisp pear flavors of Vidal Blanc combine with the bold Cabernet to form a mouth-pleasing blend. This unrivaled mixture is sure to please and a good choice for a light fare or picnic.
  Red Table Wine
Four JG's Red Table Wine is a good mix of Chambourcin and Chancellor grapes. It has a strong garnet color, hints of black pepper, and a smooth finish. It's great with a pizza or burger, and is the winemaker's favorite!
  Seyval Blanc
One of the original grapes planted at Four JG's, Seyval is a crisp, barrel-aged wine that captures the tastes of melon and hints of butter and vanilla. The grapes are gently as whole clusters and immediately began fermentation to capture the fresh, vibrant fruit character of the Seyval Blanc grape. For increased complexity, we fermented three-fourths of the juice in 60-gallon American oak barrels and the balance in stainless steel tanks Enjoy with salads and shrimp dishes.
  Vidal Blanc
This semi-dry Vidal Blanc is crisp and fruity with lush tropical flavors. After fermentation, Four JG's separates the Vidal Blanc and ages a small portion in American Oak. Prior to bottling, the Vidals are once again blended providing a hint of vanilla and butter to the finish. Terrific when paired with butternut squash soup, roasted chicken or seafood.
  Vignole
Green apple and citrus come to mind when sipping Vignole. It's a semi-dry white wine with an elegant finish. Vignole makes a perfect aperitif that stands up well to cheeses and snacks. It's the tasting room favorite in the blue bottle!
