What started out as a casual conversation between two cousins in June of 2014, quickly turned into the launching pad for Running Vines Winery. Walt and Nicki were discussing partnering and opening something together, when Walt suggested a winery. Nicki found some suitable locations all which had different appeals and arranged for a visit with Walt & his wife, Katie. So just six short weeks after the birth of the daughter, Walt & Katie came to Indiana. They scoped out all the possible locations, went on some wine tours, and nailed down their location. The pair decided on the main street shoppes right in the heart of Nicki’s hometown, Chesterton.
Walt & Nicki grew up in tight knit Italian family. They wanted to incorporate their love for family, their heritage, and their communities into Running Vines. Both Walt and Nicki feel community involvement is important as well as leading a healthy lifestyle. So the pair has partnered to put on several different athletic events in the area as well as they will host occasional free fun runs with tastings at the winery.
They feature wines for the entire pallet. From dry light bodied wines from their Fit Collection to their fruitier sweeter wines from our Race Collection.
