Cave Ridge Vineyards

Cave Ridge Vineyards Cave Ridge is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery located in the foothills overlooking the Shenandoah Valley, world renowned for its scenic beauty and history. Low rainfall and deep, rocky soils make this an ideal location for growing the highest quality grapes used to make our wines. We produce wines that emphasize the fruit character of the grape using a minimalist approach to our winemaking. Cave Ridge adheres to sustainable farming practices in order to promote a healthy ecosystem for future generations.

  Chambourcin
The first vintage from the vineyards at Cave Ridge was blended with a small amount of Cabernet Franc to produce a wine with a good tannin that provides hints of cherry and licorice. This wine will age nicely and continue to soften for the next 3-5 years.
  Chambourcin
Fruit flavors is what this wine is all about. A very light pressing of the skins after fermentation allows this wine to express the true fruit flavors of this grape variety. It goes well with cheese and is an excellent wine to serve with pasta dishes and pizza.
  Riesling
The combination of citrus flavors and perfect acidity make this 2005 vintage unique. Made in a dry Alsatian style, this wine will do well with spicy foods, shellfish, and most Asian foods.
  Traminette
A cousin of the German grape Gewürztraminer, this is one of the few wines that has a floral character with hints of roses. Made in a dry style, with good acidity, this wine is excellent for picnics and pairs well with light cheeses, salads, and fruits. Main dish pairings include Asian and shellfish.
  Viognier
This 2005 vintage was truly remarkable. Favorable drought conditions at the vineyard produced grapes with very high sugar levels, and expressed the unique varietal character of this grape. This highly aromatic wine provides strong melon flavors that will intensify with aging. This is an excellent wine with turkey, duck, and pork.
