Noblemen Wines, founded in 2019 by husband and wife duo Austin and Katie Pitzer, is a quality-focused Texas wine brand with an emphasis on producing Mourvedre wines. We source old school, heritage varietals that originated throughout southern Europe, and today, those vines thrive in the Texas climate.
During our search throughout Texas’s wine regions for premium Mourvedre, we often discover other incredible varietals in the same old school vein, such as a zesty Piqupol Blanc or a full bodied Tannat. We developed our Outlier program to showcase those special grapes in limited quantities and share them alongside our flagship Noblemen Wines Mourvedre.
The name, Noblemen, pays tribute to the ‘Noblemen of Texas,’ a group of German nobility that led an emigration effort to the state in the 1840’s. These ‘Noblemen’ eventually founded the town of Fredericksburg, which is now the center of wine tourism in Texas. Included in this group were some of Austin’s family members, making it that much more significant to recognize their contributions to this region.
