Ladoga Ridge Winery

Ladoga Ridge Winery Ladoga Ridge Winery is a family-owned and operated winery and vineyards operation. Longtime Smithville residents Galen and Leinda Haddock invested much thought, time and hard physical labor to develop this business - literally, from the ground up. From planting the grapevines, meeting state and federal requirements, and perfecting the labels for each bottle of wine, to staining pergolas, putting the finishing touches on the warm and welcoming tasting room, and working with area merchants to fill the gift shop with local wares, the Haddocks have pressed forward toward their dream. The couple says they could not have done it without the help of their children, Bryant, Melissa and Brittany, and the support of a few close friends.

  B Cause
B Cause is a sweet rose' wine made from the Catawba grape. It is a great wine to reflect and relax in the company of good friends! B Cause was designed to celebrate the lives of two inspiring women, Grandma B and Mrs. B, who fought but lost their courageous battles with breast cancer. We share this wine with all breast cancer survivors who continue to give the rest of us hope. Enjoy B Cause! Thank you, Kathy - a two-time breast cancer survivor who named the wine. A portion of the proceeds of this product will be donated to various breast cancer awareness programs.
  Blackberry Wine
Bursting with true summertime goodness of freshly-picked blackberries, this wine not only goes well with food, but is equally satisfying at home on the deck while reading a good book, or sitting in front of a fire on a cold winter's evening. Blackberry pairs well with smoked cheeses and meats, BBQ or wild game. Cheers!
  Concord
This popular sweet American classic with its labrusco fruity flavors is highly aromatic and pleasing to the palate. Try Concord with poultry, light meals and Feta cheese. Enjoy!
  Norton
"Norton" is the official grape of the State of Missouri and is considered the cornerstone of the Missouri Wine Industry. It is a full-bodied wine with penetrating flavor and aroma. Norton pairs well with big, bold flavors such as BBQ, steak and lasagna. It is great for accentuating the taste of dark chocolate. Enjoy!
  Peach Wine
A fun and refreshing, crisp white wine bursting with fresh peach flavor. Perfectly balanced in sweetness, fruit and acidity. Great to enjoy any time of the year. Serve ice cold with peaches and berries over vanilla ice cream, or while feasting on your favorite pizza. Enjoy!
  Strawberry Rhubarb
Balancing the sweetness of a ripe strawberry with the tartness of fresh rhubarb, this wine will appeal to the lovers of both dry and sweet wines alike! The perfect wine for a picnic, pair it with a light salad and fresh fruits. Cheers!
  Sully's White Wine
Sully's White is a semi-dry white wine with tropical fruit aromas. It pairs nicely with soft cheeses, poultry, smoked salmon, and spicy Thai or Chinese. Its name is derived from Leinda's German heritage, "Sullenger." It's a great wine to enjoy while reflecting upon the love and importance of family!
  Toad-A-Lope Red
Toad-A-Lope Red is a custom-blended semi-sweet red wine. It is a great wine to enjoy with family and friends on the patio or on picnics. It pairs well with delicate fish, poultry, grilled chicken salads, strawberries and blueberries. Enjoy! The name "Toad-A-Lope" refers to land located north of the Platte River in Smithville, Mo., which includes the Ladoga Ridge site. It is believed a local resident, back in the early 1900s, named the area and it stuck with the community for a number of decades thereafter. People living in the portion of Smithville were referred to as "Toad-A-Lopers." Although not confirmed, some believe the meaning of "Toad-A-Lope" is an Indian term meaning "Heaven."
  Yankee Smith
This full-bodied red wine pairs well with steak, big hearty pasta dishes, chocolate, lamb, venison or - our favorite - bar-b-que ribs. The wine has been named in honor of Humphrey Smith, universally known as "Yankee Smith," who was the first settler on the present site of Smithville back in 1822. Smith was an abolitionist and was in favor of human rights, universal liberty, equal and exact justice, no union with slaveholders, free States, free people, union of States and a one and universal republic.
