Black Sheep Winery opened in 1986, featuring small releases of wine handcrafted from high quality grapes grown in Calaveras, Amador and El Dorado Counties. We produce about 3,200 cases of wine per year, specializing in zinfandel, but also producing cabernet sauvignon, sauvignon blanc and a second label we call True Frogs Lily Pad White. This wine pays homage to our jumping frog heritage here in Calaveras County!

Directions
We are located in the Gold Rush town of Murphys, California in Calaveras County in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Murphys, with its historic, tree-lined Main Street is a 2 1/2 hour drive east from most locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
