Moss Farms Winery is located at 100 Harvest Lane, Stone Church Road Wheeling, West Virginia. The winery, established in 2012 is an extension of a family farm that has deep agricultural room in the Ohio River Valley of West Virginia. Hiram Porter Moss bought the Marshall County farm in 1882 when he married Emma Jane Courtright from Dry Ridge. The property passed to his son, H. A. Moss (Harvey Arthur) along with his first wife, Daisy, and his second Wife, Lila Jane. Then the property passed to Harvey and Lila Jane’s children. Byron R. Moss and his wife, Nancy Lee Petzold Moss, bought out his two sisters’ shares in the property. Byron then purchased an adjoining farm in Ohio County in 1955 to create farmland that is spread out over Marshall and Ohio counties.
