We here at Dirigible Brewing Company aim to be a community and family oriented brewery that is Steampunk themed. For the uninitiated, a dirigible is any lighter-than-air craft that is self propelled and has steering capabilities. Dirigibles are one of the more iconic structures of a Steampunk world. Steampunk is a genre of science fiction where the world never really progressed past steam technology. It focuses on the hand crafted or man-made, instead of more industrial practices. Fashion is Victorian inspired, with top hats, monocles, and corsets being much of the forefront.
When we began our brewery planning, we wanted a business with a solid name and an accompanying theme. We landed (pun intended) on the Steampunk genre, because we already had plenty of interest in the genre, attending many Steampunk festivals throughout the years. Steampunk also conveniently shares a lot of the same color themes of beer: Reds, golds, brass, browns, and blacks.
At DBC, everything starts with fresh ingredients. We source our ingredients from as many local farmers as we can find, resulting in a higher quality end product. These end products include beer and hard seltzer, but also non-alcoholic offerings such as craft sodas, coffee, and flavored seltzers. The atmosphere is another important factor, and our taproom features a warm and inviting destination, offering our patrons access to a wide variety of tabletop and strategy games, occasional tournaments, and more!
